Edu Falaschi 's interview on Novo Metal second part

Here is the second part of the translation of the Edu Falaschi's interview on Novo metal : (sorry for my bad translation ..., I hope you'll understand it :)

"Novo Metal : In the album (Fragile Equality), you distributed the tracks in order to consolidate the idea of Balance, starting with a good heavy music through lighter tracks until the ballad and then repeating the same process. Who had this idea and how it was discussed in the band ?

Edu Falaschi : We thought of everything. If we are speaking about balance this sould be extended to all, lyrics, cover, traks order, etc ...

Novo Metal : Why did you choose “You’ll Understand” as first song to be released on Myspace ?

Edu Falaschi : Because it’s very strong, one of the best of the album. And for many things, it’s a good example to illustrate the whole album.

Novo Metal : When this song was made available on Myspace, there was a record of access. Tell us a little about the Internet advent and its consequences in the music industry.

Edu Falaschi : Internet has these two sides. It’s good for the spreading, but at the same time, it’s killing the records labels and many bands. I thing the Internet is good for people to know bands, but this is not enough to make a band a big band. It takes a lot of investment, media, advertinsing, tours with good results, marketing, a good businessman, video clip, outstanding album. For all it’s necessary to have money. Form a band, record music, create a nice site, anyone can do it. But to become an icon without the label support it’s impossible.

Novo Metal : At the launching of the first album , you said that you took advantage of the material which couldnt be used in Angra. How does it work to choose the material to enter in an album and how the band managed it ?

Edu Falaschi : These songs are songs I composed during the Angra’s albums creation, I composed a lot and always. In Various styles, sometimes. What we didn’t use in Angra I held it and used later. Not that the Angra’s guys didn’t want it, I had put it aside by myself. I composed more than 100 songs in my carrer and 47 already released on albums.

Novo Metal : A few months ago, the bass player Felipe Andreoli, published in his blog his indignation about some heavy metal Brazilians fans who feed rivalries between bands and make some comments against the succes of “competors”, giving the feeling that thedesunity increase. What do you have to say about that ?

Edu Falaschi : It’s garbage that hardly exists in Brazil. That’s why the national metal is almost dead, almost no places to play, almost wihtout professional of Rock, almost no audience for the great national bands, which are very good, professional and talented. The fault is due for a large part to some fans and Orkut users, the dregs of humanity. The fault is also due to the bands which are individualist, but what ?Brazilian is like that in its essence.

Novo Metal : How it was to play live keyboards ? Do you want to continue in the next shows?

Edu Falaschi : That came naturally, it’s very cool. I love piano, I play keyboards and piano for a long time, among others music instruments, but I never had the opportunity to play it live. As Almah has no keyboardist live now and some songs need piano, I decided to play it. After all, I did the same when I composed, then nothing more naturel for me to do it live.

Novo Metal : How is the metal scene in the Northeast and why you didn’t include Rio De Janeiro and the southern on the first part of the tour ?

Edu Falaschi : The northeast, is today the metal fortress in Brazil. If there was no the Northeast, the national metal would be definitely dead. I had the great honour to show “Fragile Equality” there. Other cities are being schedulded. Rio De Janiero is certainly included in our plans on April, (...). I would like to do 80 shows in Brazil, but never without any structure, in ridiculous places, with minimal equipement. For the band, for me, and especially for fans respect, we will play shows when everything is ok.

Novo Metal : You released the “Beyond Tomorrow” clip and will launch the “All I Am” single. Why it’s not the same music for the clip and single ? Will you shoot a clip of “All I Am” in the future ?

Edu Falaschi : We didn’t want to link the clip with the virtual single. They are two different things. “Beyond Tomorrow” is perfect for a clip, a super powerfull music and the single is actually an acoustic version of “All I Am”.

Novo Metal : About the new single cover, you have already received something from Brazilian fans or the outside ?

Edu Falaschi : Yes, we are very excited, there are great artists, great talents in the world. (...), we will give more time to have more and more (...)

Novo metal : The guitarist Rafael Bittencourt (Angra / Bittencourt Project) said that he would like to do others shows with Almah, like the show in November /08 in Sao Paulo. What did you think about this show with Bittencourt Project and about future shows ?

Edu Falaschi : It was wonderful, everything was perfect. I think we should run the world with this show. It was very good ! Rafa’s work is great to listen and his show was very good. Everone was in tune in this show and I think other people deserve to see this show.

Novo Metal : Do you have some plans to make an international tour ?

Edu Falaschi : I have thousand plans, but it’s not easy to carry them out today. The market is quite complicated and we can say that Almah is a young band. We can even say the last album is the first album of the band and it’s very hard for a band to make a world tour with his first album. There are some real opportunities, but I don’t want to leave the world in madness, without a minimum of structure. I have done several world tours with Angra and I know when it’s time to go. And the Almah’s time is going to get outside.

Novo Metal : The Wacken Rocks Brazil will happen in Sao Paulo. What do you think about these greats festivals held here and what this mean for the Brazilian metal scene ?

Edu Falaschi : I’m praying for it happens ! But it would be great between the Great international bands, to have great national bands. It could make all the difference for the national scene."
